Not sure the setup inside of your system but upgrading to dual-channel 8GB is likely best. check my blog it just would not stop, and the drive did not need defragmenting.. If this is the case, then go to msconfig and see what you can delete from your start up tab. Ask !
solved Do Core 2 Quad run significantly hotter than a Core 2 Duo. It is just slower to boot up, which could mean you are loading too much to start up (not unfamiliar with all the bloatware you get with new installations from manufacturers). before I was lagging ALL the time in Skyrim on medium setting - like just walking around - not even with enemies. Yes... Also, check FM is seeing that you have 3 processors via the status screen.

Other people like me have been salvaging it it from old systems and keeping the best stuff in a box for those once in a while needs.
